PHECCLES - 'CreamofBritish Paint Splash' and 'CreamofBritish Doris Day'

Our lives changed for the better, when Freddie (CreamofBritish Paint Splash) entered our lives in December 2009. We'd gone through a difficult few months, having lost my beloved bearded collie and jack russell within a couple of months of each other, we then purchased another puppy, and within a week, had to have Ollie put to sleep, due to birth defects, that we knew nothing about. A great friend of mine, contacted me, and told me she'd found a puppy for us, I responded, saying no way, I didn't want anymore dogs, I had no heart left for another, we were both absolutely heartbroken, because of all we'd been through. Next minute, an email arrives, with a photo of the dearest looking little thing staring at us, I'd never heard of Australian Labradoodles and certainly had never seen one but here we were, looking at one and wondering if it was really what we both wanted. I must admit, we were both feeling very cautious, about trying again, having lost such a young puppy I was apprehensive and paranoid about there maybe being something wrong. I was assured by my friend, that "Debbie" does everything properly, all the health checks etc, so arranged a visit.

Twenty four hours later, Freddie was at home with us, we'd met Debbie, stayed there what felt like 10 minutes, but was actually a good couple of hours, chatting, learning more about the doodle breed, we came away armed with a pack of info on Freddie, certificates, chip numbers, vet info, a fantastic guide to our new puppies "development & training" - written by HER, which I used daily, I might add a book called having the "perfect puppy" - which I also used frequently and with what felt like, a new friend…NO, not the puppy, but Debbie!!! Freddie settled in instantly, we were amazed, we had no crying, no howling, he slept through the first night and so it went on from there…. We now have what we call, a "perfect pooch", he has really, really amazed me, he's happy with whatever situation you put him in, he's perfect when left home alone, he's perfect when taken out, he's perfect when visitors are round, he has a fabulous temperament, loves children, enjoys playing with other dogs. He's intelligent, I've taught him tricks, he loves to learn, he loves to please, he's affectionate and he makes us laugh, daily with his antics. He's made so many friends, not only with four legs as we've been stopped soooooo many times by people, asking about him, people stare and smile as they drive past and purposely walk towards us in order to meet him. We are so proud of him, and love showing him off. In fact, Freddie has pleased us so much, that we are awaiting the arrival of Doris. . . another. . . Yes, we decided that we'd like to go through the Freddie experience all over again and this week, Doris is to join our family and we simply can't wait. So, if you are reading this, considering a doodle, all I can say is "DOodle it" and get one, you won't be disappointed, I promise. I would just like to end this with a thank you, to Debbie and her delightful doodles and as a tribute to Rosie, Arnie, and little tiny Ollie - because if we hadn't lost them, we wouldn't have met Debbie, and we certainly wouldn't have met Freddie and that too, would've been "our loss". Michelle Phillips & Pat Eccles

Footnote: Mimi & Pat now have four dogs from us :) Freddie, Doris, Ethel & Ned and we are all lifelong friends

Debbie’s doodles are so truly special. I took home my pup Watson aka ‘CreamofBritish Rocky’ in March 2019 and he is such a spectacular boy. I chose him because he was such a chunky monkey looking puppy with big feet and a beautiful black coat with a white tip on his tail, white chin and white chest stripe. Now that he’s a year old, he’s the same chunky pup with the same white patches but now an intelligent, delightful, fun-loving, affectionate, gentle boy who doesn’t have a bad bone in him. He loves people, children and other dogs. I chose Debbie as she was known to my family - my sister has a Debbie doodle and my parents had two labradoodles that although were not Debbie’s, she was involved in their conception and birth. We even have a photo of Debbie’s legendary Nirvana (who is Watson’s grandfather) with my parent’s two doodles on a Doodle get-together! We get stopped multiple times every time we go out and not a day goes by when he isn’t told what a handsome, sweet boy he is. Thank you so much for my amazing boy, he has changed my life and I’m sure there will be many more to come as I don’t think I can be without a Debbie doodle now! Amey xx

Dear Debbie and Ian, so, our baby boy is now a big boy, and celebrating his 1st birthday. We cannot believe the time has gone so quickly. We were so delighted to hear that Scarlet had given birth to two black boys for us to choose from, and couldn't wait to see them. Ian sent photos when they were three weeks old- eyes closed tight! And the choice was made. He is our third labradoodle... We have a three year old, two year old and Fuggy-as he's called. He is our first-but not last-Cream Of British... The knowledge and care you apply to your breeding is so evident in all your dogs, and puppies. It was the year before he was born that I called and spoke with Ian for over an hour. I gained more information and wisdom in that time, than the time I had already spent with my original doodle! Furgus, is a beautiful, bold clown. He has the most amazing coat-black really is fabulous! He was the easiest puppy we've ever had...was clean really quickly, and has never been destructive! He is super bright, excellent with the children and so keen to please. Fuggy, is a credit to you both, and I can NEVER thank you enough for allowing us to be special enough, to own him. Can't wait for our next one!!!!! Debbie and Ian-really are the CREAM OF BRITISH for labradoodles. Much love Carey, Luke and fabulous Fuggy xx

Footnote: Since writing this testimonial Carey and Luke have now returned to us for their fourth CreamofBritish puppy, 'CreamofBritish Mr Tumnus' went to live with Carey and Luke on 6th August 2017, followed by Mr Dibble and Mosey

Hi Debbie, I would just like to send you an enormous thank you for the beautiful Barbara Margaret, a fantastic Slate Merle puppy from Scarlett and Dico.  You have simply been amazing, from the very first contact, welcoming us into your home full of fabulous dogs and helping us through our adventure into becoming puppy parents, you understood our pain of losing our faithful Labrador and guided us through the new reality of becoming parents again. I cannot thank you enough for that. You were also there for us every step of the way, once Barbara was conceived, born and reared and let us visit any time. Barbara has turned into a hilarious character, so much fun, but with an amazingly soft and gentle temperament, credit to you I believe for handling such an fantastic group of breeding dogs. You have inspired me to follow my dreams of becoming a Groomer and am now set up as a Sole trader with my own Grooming business and working from home.  I don’t think I ever would have done this had I not found you, so I guess you could say that you have changed my world, so for that I will be forever grateful. I would not even think about another breeder, when we come to find a brother or sister for Babs. Much Love and a gargantuan thank you from all of us. Rob Paul and Barbara xx

Dear Debbie, Thank-you so much for our wonderful Labradoodle May (dob 21.05.16). From the moment that we met you we knew that the wellbeing of your dogs and consideration of their potential owners was of the utmost importance to you and we could see that your love for your dogs was without limit. As a family who have never owned a dog we were made very comfortable by yourselves and welcomed into your home where we met both parents Indi & Nelson and later Meryl from their previous litter. You were very clear at all times with the information that you gave us and we were always well informed regarding progress and updates. After meeting another breeder prior to meeting with Debbie it was apparent that CreamofBritish are certainly that and fortunately Debbie was happy with ourselves as prospective owners of one of her puppies.  We were given a very comprehensive handover when we collected May at 7 weeks. Debbie demonstrated washing, grooming, nail clipping as well as sharing with us years of experience to give the best wellbeing to May. We followed her recommendation for Raw food and the supplier PP Raw has provided us with a great service & May with complete meals which have aided her development. We were also given a detailed handover pack with information which would guide us through the early development of May. As such we have a well behaved, loving dog that is an integral part of our family that is loved unconditionally by us. Debbie is always available & would without hesitation give any further advice if required. We would like to thank-you most sincerely for May, the most beautiful, loving, wonderful addition to our family and we could not imagine life without her. We look forward to meeting up with you all on a future organised walk. With all our love Sue, Andrew, Emily, Charlotte, Harry & Evie Parsons xxxxxx

Dear Debbie, Further to our telephone conversation a couple of months ago I have finally got round to sending you some photos of our lovely labradoodle Meg.  We got her from you as a tiny pup in June 2000 and she has now reached the grand age of 15 years old. She is a fabulous family pet and has always had a lovely nature; she never minded when our daughter Freya climbed all over her when she was a toddler.  Meg still goes for daily walks and loves nothing more than a good play in the garden. She loves tasty snacks and can often be found in the kitchen when dinner is being prepared.  Her favourite walks are on the beach or in the woods. We are very proud to be her owners and she is still going strong! I know you wanted some photos for your website and so I attach some of her over the last 5 years, the last one was taken only a couple of weeks ago. With best wishes, Maria, Chris and Freya.

Dear Debbie, I hope all is well with you and your family. I can't believe our beautiful Daisy is 2 today!  She has brought us such joy and has completely changed our lives and priorities.  We now have a small place in Cowes which we visit as frequently as we can - Daisy loves it.  She's not brave enough to swim but loves a scamper and splash in the shallow water.  Daisy is such a loving girl - she adores being the centre of attention and likes nothing more than to scamper along the esplanade stopping at each bench to receive some fuss from everyone she meets - she clearly thinks they are just waiting on the bench for her to come along!  As you can see from the photo, Daisy loves a tummy rub. We met another of your pups, Flo, who lives in East Cowes - her owner immediately recognised Daisy as one of your pups.  Interestingly there is also a chap who works on the chain ferry in Cowes who also recognised Daisy as being one of yours and said he had met a few of your gorgeous pups. We are forever grateful to you for allowing us to have our gorgeous Daisy - we can't imagine life without her! With best wishes, Michele & Paul x

Hi Debbie, William is now 1 year old and we thought we would share a few pics. He is bigger than he looks on the photos as he now weighs 22 kilos. Janice and I are both very close to him and he returns our love in spades. He will now walk to heel without a lead ( not close to roads yet) comes when he is called and will not let us out of his sight. We are both really pleased that we got him and also very pleased we got him from you as his breeding quality is obvious. Regards, David Storey

Hi Debbie, we have had Crosby now for eight weeks and he is the most handsome chocolate merle. In the past I have had an F1 Labradoodle and still have a six year old Goldendoodle, bitch, and I must say Crosby is the easiest puppy so far! He had two “accidents” in the house (not on my watch I may add), and none since, which is amazing. As a dog trainer myself, I have found him really willing and easy to train, his social life with other dogs, people, and loads of different places has caused him no problem whatsoever. He is great with my other dog Cleo, and also my two grandchildren who are ages 2 and 3years. He always stays close out on walks, but is also brilliant in his crate when being left or at night, and has been from day one.I can honestly say the “experience” from my first contact with Debbie, through to the collection of Crosby has been amazing and I hope we will remain in touch and good friends. Debbie and Ian’s management and upbringing of the pups in there care, and their house, is very rare these days, she treats each one as her own and clearly loves them all. Thank you for our gorgeous new addition, we love him to bits. My husband has said more than once, that the next pup comes from CreamofBritish, and that’s without any prompting from me!! More updates to follow. Laura Thomas - Paws4fun ADTB gold instructor.

We had been considering a dog on and off for a long time but I really believe that it wouldn't have ever happened if we hadn't met Debbie and her gorgeous dogs. I have a pretty serious dog allergy and both my daughter and I were also quite nervous of dogs due to me being bitten twice when I was young, Debbie was so understanding of this and allowed us to visit her a lot to firstly be sure that I had no reaction and secondly to build up our confidence, I think she also needed to be sure we knew what we were taking on before she could hand over one of her precious pups to us. On the 17th of may we bought home our gorgeous chocolate merle boy Erik and almost immediately it was like he had always been here, he is a happy confident little pup who loves to be around people, we have had very little trouble with toilet training I think largely due to the start that Debbie had made, and we have had no trouble at all with whining at night in fact he took to his crate straight away and can often be found in there just having a little nap, when we take him out and about we are constantly stopped by people who want to know what breed he is and they always comment on his unusual markings, of course he is more than happy to show off his friendly personality to. Having visited a number of breeds to test for allergic reactions before we decided on Erik I am absolutely certain we made the right choice of dog for us, it is early days yet but he seems pretty perfect in every way and as a novice dog owner it is of immeasurable comfort to know that I have a lifetime of support at the end of the phone. I am aware that you can buy cheaper but I firmly believe you could never buy a better puppy with better start to life than a cream of British puppy, I would never buy from anyone else. K. Curtis

Hi Debbie, it’s incredible that it’s only 4 weeks since we collected Pepper – she seems to have a part of our lives for ever.  She has settled into a thoroughly normal, well balanced little dog; she socialises well and is responding well to training.  We do think that the grounding for all this was your input in managing her first weeks and the advice that you provided us with in our meetings and in the documentation you gave us on Pepper’s collection.  We have continues to feed her on Natural Instincts and I hope that you have received your credit for introducing us to this product line. So … we are delighted with Pepper and thank you for doing such a good job in her early weeks.  She hasn’t changed much in the 4 weeks so we’ll send you photos of her when she’s grown a bit more. Hope you keep well and that you have managed to place the rest of the litter. Rgds Andrew

Dudley is our second puppy from Debbie (Cream of British) and I can honestly say that you could not chose a better breeder to buy  your puppy from. Debbie has many years of experience in breeding - our first puppy came from her 13 years ago! She cares about her dogs and the families that they go to, she will go that extra mile to ensure that you are confident puppy parents. She will give you all the information you need to make sure that your new dog is well looked after. Our dog Dudley is calm, intelligent and loving. He never done anything really naughty - he chews what he is allowed to chew, he was toilet trained within 2 weeks. He walks on and off the lead really well. His trick repertoire is growing by the day - he sits and goes to the floor on a hand command, we are working on stay but he is only 5 months old! So far we have introduced him to our friends that have small children and he is brilliant with them. We have taken him to friends houses that have young dogs, middle aged and old dogs and he knows his place in all environments. He is well behaved at the pub and sits calmly under my seat.We always get lovely comments when we are walking Dudley - "wow what amazing colouring", "what a gorgeous puppy", "aren't you lucky to have such a well behaved puppy" I would highly recommend Cream of British to anyone looking for a new addition to their family. Thank you Debbie for letting us have Dudley - we love him so much and we are looking forward to your next Doodle walk day so that we can show you how gorgeous he is. Best wishes Jo xx

Hey Debbie... Mucho thanks for Bones... Now Ozzi... He's a dream and a testament to what fantastic breeders you and Ian are. I could not have wanted to take a dog from better people. From the start I knew we had come to the right place and what you do for your dogs and how you are building up the Cream of British pack is a joy to be apart of....makes me very proud to be a part of it... I know mum has been putting in calls and thank you for your time. We all want to make sure Ozzi get's over his move away as easily and happily as possible. I have to say I'm surprised just how cool he has been, again a reflection on how you bring the little lovelies into the world! He is going to be a great addition to the family and promise we will continue with you're great work....I took him to the vet today for the jab... Without any discuss I brought up whether he advises annual boosters and he was very clear on saying it was a must. I didn't say anything but having read your notes and I yet to fully read all the links you kindly supplied. But I was inwardly questioning whether he was the right Vet for us. Certainly after he questioned the raw diet I said we would be doing. Although Ozzi will always be a close family member I'm very clear on the fact a dog is a dog. I did animal psychology for a degree and although I would never suggest I know lots about dogs I do have a general idea of how animals should be dealt with. I was very impressed with your approach to diets etc... It gave me great confidence to carry on how I think a dog should be treated and raw food makes perfect sense for so many reasons. Without having the time with you I would not have had the confidence to put this into practice. Mucho thanks for inviting me to your group and I'll introduce Ozzi properly to the pack when get some good photos and he's properly settled in. Have a fantastic Bank Holiday and thank you for helping bring a change to our family! You guys rawk and look forward to catching up again in the future. Take care, Dan Rose xxx

Dear Debbie, It is incredibly difficult to put into words the pure joy that young Flynn has bought Mike and I since he joined us in August. After losing our dear little Norfolk Terrier Alfie so very suddenly in July we, including our elderly Labrador Henry were just grief stricken and at such a loss. The house was so quiet and seemed really empty and poor Henry was so lonely and depressed. The decision to get a puppy was easy really but I am certain it was fate that lead us to your door! So we came to visit you and fell in love with our gorgeous little merle boy. Flynn is without doubt the most laid back puppy I have had he adores everyone that he meets young and old. Everyone remarks on his temperament and what a wonderful colour he is. He is full of fun and such a joy to have around and has bought Henry back to life with his antics! I am a great believer in fate and am certain that when we lost Alfie he somehow sent us Flynn, daft as it seems I know. This gorgeous boy of ours has bought back the fun and laughter to the house, he is an absolute joy to take anywhere and of course is excelling at puppy school!! Can’t thank you enough Debbie not only for Flynn but your wealth of knowledge and friendship. Love Brenda and Mike and Flynn xxxxx

First of all I thank God we found you Debbie Thus enabling us to welcome… Harry Marsh Jnr  ( we lost our beloved Black Labrador Harry Snr last year Aged 14). We welcomed Harry into our family at the beginning of 2012. We arranged to meet him at his birth home with siblings and extended family.Debbie was supportive , but clear as to with  whom and  where her fur babies were to live. The next day we walked him  with Debbie’s fur family and our Standard Poodle Ross and we were accepted!!! Time to say goodbye… Emotions running high. We set off on a journey with a view to our adventure, Harry , me, my husband Bob, and Ross . Harry slept on my lap or on the back seat of the car all the way to the South of France stopping frequently for us all to eat and do the necessary . Harry was totally unfazed by it all. Ross however I'm sure was wondering how long this pup would be around . We arrived home , Harry ran riot for a while then settled down in his "cage" to sleep all night . He has slept through ever since. He has always "asked " to go out for wee wee's  asking for all sorts of things now, he is very vocal , so much so that each growl has a different meaning and I now know Harry speak ...he has trained me well. He learned to sit ,wait ,give me a paw within a week of living with us .So clever so willing to please . Harry and Ross quickly became firm friends playing every day till they were both exhausted , Harry totally unfazed by the size of Ross , and  developed some very athletic moves . We sadly lost Ross recently as a result of post operative  complications , however ,  Ross gave Harry  a wonderful start to his doggie life with us. Debbie’s pups are phenomenal . Harry is ;  gentle , well mannered , biddable , easy to train , calm . But most of all fun, he is quirky , inquisitive , jumps so high you wouldn't believe. He carries his lead to the car and will wait patiently… In the drivers seat! Is this his next challenge... Driving? Debbie…. Harry came to us for a reason… All meant to be. The spirit of Harry Snr and Ross is alive and well. Thank you Christine xx

Hi Debbie, hope all well with you. We thought you may like to see this picture of  Bertie we took today. He's so gorgeous, a real calm good boy (most of  the time!) - a credit to you. Will send some more pics soon. Best regards Sue, Mike, Bella, Elliot and Lewin

Hi Debbie, as it was Boomer's 3rd birthday yesterday I thought I would send you an update. He's absolutely fine and a pleasure to own. He's still chasing his ball non stop when we're at the park. He bosses our chocolate lab Boris around and occasionally gets him to play chase. I'll try to attach a recent picture of him. We met a Cockerpoo the other day who was very much like Boomer but obviously not as cute!!! I hope all is well with you, Best wishes, Anne Cross

Hiya Guys Well, we thought we'd send you a few of the snaps of Branston's first weekend in his new home. One thing is for sure, he has certainly made himself at home. He is a lively little character who just loves to play and pounce  and be part of the action - animal or human kind, he's not fussed! He and Marmite are inseparable already with Marmite being amazing at putting up with his mouthing and constant hanging off his ears. In fact, i swear he grooms Branston with his teeth each day. When one leaves a room, the other follows. You'll see from the pic's they are up to scams together already in the garden. You lost your rhubarb; we have Marmite teaching Branston the joys of pulling down green bean stalks and they have both dug up the apple tree in the middle of the lawn. Well, it was a lawn until Friday when they dug that up too in the rain!! You two have started Branston off so well. He toilets on command and has already got the idea of his name and to "sit" for his dinner and snacks and sleeps at night in his crate with the door closed - all things we had to start Marmite off with from scratch. He even has a little bark to go out into the garden when needing an extra toilet. I think my neighbours must think i'm the barking mad one giving huge, excited praise at all hours of the day and night about a toilet break!?! He is a credit to you at 'CreamofBritish'. THANK YOU x Yvonne and Simon

Hi Debbie, in spite of her reaction to the stitches, she has been an absolute angel!  She doesn't complain at all. You are clearly an excellent breeder who genuinely cares for her animals. Getting fluffy settled into our family has been so incredibly easy (touch wood!). She has taken to the crate from day one, she sleeps thru as you said and has only had 2 accidents since getting here. She is the most easy going puppy, and we adore her! I really can't thank you enough. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending you to anyone! Best wishes Rox

Hi Debbie, you may remember we bought Hooper from you in April. He is doing great and I will send you some photos when I can get a chance.  He is on his second beech holiday just now and having great time. He is doing really well at his training classes and the trainer thinks he is a really intelligent dog. He is taking his bronze tests next week after only six weeks which is really fast. He is a really happy boy and the advice you gave us about getting him adjusted to everything around him has really worked. He is friendly with every dog he meets and plays with them all. All the house training etc was done in a few weeks and he has settled in so well with our family. You might guess he is a bit spoiled but he is worth it! I was also writing as I am in the process of getting our second dog, a golden retriever from a breeder in Durham. I mentioned to her how we were feeding Hooper with the raw meat from Landywood and she is keen to learn more about it. She mentioned trying to get some breeders site information to encourage people down this route. She asked me for you details but I said I would check with you before giving your email address or number. Is it OK if she contacts you Debbie?  She seems keen on the raw meat idea and has been breeding retrievers and labradors for about 20 years. I can't say enough god things about Hooper he is a fantastic dog. Everyone I met on holiday asked about him. A lady we met today was very interested in where we got him, I have given her your website name so she could look into it. Stewart Bartle

Hi Debbie, It has been almost 1 year ago, since we picked River up in Calais. We would like to let you know that River is doing great. He is such an adorable dog and listens very good. He is a social dog, easy to walk with and already has met a lot of neighbour dogs. I will send you a picture and 2 short videos, in separate emails. Kind regards, Annelies van Beek, The Netherlands

Hi Debbie. Its been a hectic couple of years, I don't remember if I sent you pictures or not but thought you would like to see how our boy is progressing.  I know these are a bit late but this was last Christmas, he loved the snow. This summer he has loved the beach and has learnt how to swim, although his favourite pass time is chasing seagulls. Well any birds really but we try to keep it to seagulls as ducks, geese and chickens can get us into trouble!!  He is a wonderful healthy, happy and oh such a loving dog thank you for the Introduction to be breed and being the breeder of such a wonder dog. Thanks for so much happiness. Julie Bisbey

Hi Debbie, just to let you know we have called our puppy Bruno.  He is such a clever boy, he has already learned "fetch", though we still have to work on "drop".  Steven and Geraldine came yesterday morning to collect their little one, Freckle Bear.  We found it very hard to choose between them, they are both lovely boys.  In the end we thought Freckle Bear would get on better with the children, and in fact when they arrived they made a big fuss of him, and he didn't mind a bit.  Bruno was happy to be patted and stroked, but kept out of the way when they wanted to lift him up.We had no problems with him last night, much to our amazement.  As the first night on his own we thought it would be difficult.  He went to bed with his bunny and a hot water bottle wrapped in a soft blanket, complained a bit for five minutes and then went to sleep.  He woke up about 10.30 and we took him out for "hurry ups" and he went straight back to bed. He didn't wake up again until 7.30.  He has been really good with his toilet, and we have only had a couple of little puddles where we havn't taken him out in time.  He is going in and out of the conservatory all by himself when he needs to go, but we always make sure to praise him. He has met our two cats, who keep a close eye on him, but having been told "no" once when he wanted to chase them, he seems to be leaving them alone.  Suzette keeps out of his way by going up a tree or sittingon the barbeque, and Phoebe, who is a bit older gave him a bit of a hiss.  They are both very curious about him though, and are creeping closer and closer to have a look.  He has also met some of our French neighbour, two girls of 10 and a boy of 13, Grandma and Dad who provides our firewood.  They came round when we still had the two, and Freckle Bear went right up to their big dog, nose to nose, with no hesitation.  Bruno held back on that one! Thank you once again for letting us have one of your wonderful pups.  He has had such a good start in life.  Having read most of the puppy training book you gave us, we realise how easy it would be to make a mistake in buying a dog without realising it.  He has had every possible benefit from your breeding and care.  We are sure he is going to make a lovely addition to our family. Love and Best Wishes David and Lesley
