Our Big, Beautiful, Not So Bouncy, Non-Shedding Australian Bernedoodles

Nokhoi ~ ‘CreamofBritish Miss Sue Bishy’

At CreamofBritish we’re not just following a trend, I’m following my heart, I’ve always had big dogs and particularly loved the giant breeds but unfortunately they’re not blessed with longevity and we aren’t given enough years with our dogs as it is, I hope to change that by crossing with our Australian Labradoodles who do live an average of 15 years and are extremely healthy.

I booked Nokhoi from her breeder in 2018, her mum is a Bernese Mountain Dog and her father a Standard Poodle. I see so many Miniature Bernedoodles advertised, what is that all about? a Bernese Mountain Dog is a Giant breed, males can average 55kg, females 45kg how do you make a Giant breed Miniature? If you keep breeding back to Poodles, why not just have Poodles, they come in an array of colours? I wonder if people would find a Miniature Great Dane as desirable.

Our Bernedoodles will always be big. Big beautiful non shedding loveable goofy characters. Nokhoi’s motto is ‘‘why run when I can walk’’ that’s not to say she doesn’t enjoy a good run but she takes life in her stride, she’s big and fabulous but so very gentle and kind.

For Nokhoi’s first litter I mated her to Dico because he’s our biggest boy so he compliments her size, he’s also our eldest at thirteen and has never had any health problems and of course that wonderful CreamofBritish temperament. I always prefer to use my own breeding lines that I know so well. Nokhoi had a fabulous litter, we kept Codi to be our future stud once he has passed all of his health tests, he’s already Clear By Parentage for everything but he has to be hip & elbow scored.

I find the Bernedoodles are suited to my life as I’m fast approaching sixty and enjoying a slower pace of life with my family and my few dear friends.
